Cavite

On the way home from water camp we passed by the Aguinaldo shrine and so we decided to take pictures or possibly even a tour. It was a Monday so we were expecting that the place is open but it turns out it was open on Tuesdays to Saturdays. So we just canned the idea of doing a tour (which is free) and just roamed around the "park". The place is open to the public, and in addition to comfort rooms there are also parking spaces in the area.

It is amazing to see where Philippine Independence was declared, it stirs up a sense of national pride as well as a sense of gratefulness to those who worked to attain the independence that we are now experiencing. Granted, the Philippines may not be the richest, cleanest, advanced country but we do have our history and culture which is truly unique.

Water Camp

Because it was mother's day last sunday, we went to Water Camp in Kawit, Cavite. We stayed overnight on one of their Family Deluxe Rooms which set us back 3500 php. I disliked the fact that to get to the second floor rooms you have to go through the back of the 1st floor rooms. The Family Deluxe Rooms are on the second floor and the Standard Rooms are on the first floor. The room itself was nice, there was a coffee table, a TV, an aircon, an intercom. There was even a vanity table in between the beds. It was fairly spacious but the highlight of the room was the balcony which has a view of the pools. Another plus was the complementary toiletries as well as the towels they provided in the room. You are constantly reminded not to use the towels as "basahan" or rags or else you will have to pay for it (300 php ea.).

It being a Sunday and a holiday the place was packed, but come night time the crowd thinned out, the only problem was that it was very cold (because of typhoon Bebeng). Like in Splash Island where the slides open and close at certain times, the water camp pools also have "operating times".

Since we were staying overnight the food we brought with us ran out and so we decided to get breakfast at the foodcourt. We had goto, arroz caldo with egg, arroz caldo with chicken, chopsuey and lechon kawali. The food was okay, it was hot and tasty. The food prices are also reasonable as we spent about 250 php for all the food we got (without drinks).
(Sidenote: The food court is also called little Josephine's because the resort is owned by Josephine's)

All in all, I would come back to water camp. The place was clean, the pools were clean, and the staff were nice. It is a very nice weekend trip since its so near the metro.

Oh and also, inside the resort they are not strict about your swimming attire and swimming is also safe because of all the lifeguards who enforce the resort rules. Inside the resort, aside from the snack stalls and food court there are also stores selling cheap inflatables, we bought a "boat" for my sister and it only cost 250 php.

Villa Gregoria Resort: Laguna (Review)

Villa Gregoria Terrace Resort
Cool... Relaxing... & Refreshing...

Went to Villa Gregoria today and we were planning on staying overnight, only there were no rooms left. I told my parents we should have contacted them beforehand and booked a room nut my mom said that she was told (when we went to look at the place last Wednesday) that we need not reserve since we could just walk in and they can get us a room. After learning that we could not stay overnight my mood just went downhill. My mom said we could go night swimming instead, which puzzled me because there are signs saying that the only ones who could go night swimming were those staying overnight. I suggested we look for other resorts and found one (Villa Sotoya) nearby, nut it wasn't that great so we ended up back in Villa Gregoria.

We left early since it was getting really cold and it was a long drive home. I didn't think we get the value for our buck but I definitely would visit this place again, only next time I'll make sure we make the reservations. :p
Pros:
*Clean surroundings
*Landscaping
*Well maintained cottages
*Separate shower rooms and bathrooms
*Good parking
*Security

Cons:
*The mini olympic pool closes at 5:30
*Paying extra 50 php for entrance to the kiddie pool area
*Kind of expensive

Villa Sylvia Resort: Laguna (Part 2)

Villa Sylvia Resort Brochure

Location Map/ Contact Details

General Information

Facilities

A plus when visiting this resort:

Residencia de Riego: Batangas

General Information:
Name of Resort: Residencia de Riego
Location: Sitio Libis, Muzon 2, Alitagtag, Batangas
Amenities:
*2 Adult Pools
*1 Kiddie Pool
*Bar and Restaurant
*Barbeque Area
*Huts
*Air Conditioned Rooms

Another great summer getaway, Residencia de Riego is fairly cheap, clean and secluded. It is a good place to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The resort has three pools, a barbeque area, huts for those who are not planning to stay overnight, air conditioned rooms and a bar and restaurant. The place is very serene in the day but come sunset the place lights up and transforms into a lively scene.

Residencia de Riego in Pictures:

This is the 4.5 feet pool, beautifully landscaped.

The pool in front is the deeper pool, while the one at the back is the kiddie pool.

This is one of the huts they rent for those who are only staying for the day

Again, the hut from the front view, they blend naturally in the resort's theme

The landscaping, the resort is clean and well manicured

The Bathrooms at Residencia de Riego:
There are individual stalls ensuring privacy. There wes a shower at each stall, a soap holder and hooks to hang the clothes in. There was also a mirror so you can see yourself full length.

The Bar and the Menu:
You could have your food delivered on your hut or your room and you can eat it there. The verdict on the food: It was good, but the quantity was disappointing considering the amount if money spent on each dish. I'd suggest bringing your own food or to barbeque food.

The Resort at Night:
It transforms at night the pool has colored lights, there are lasers by the bar-restaurant and the music plays to make for a party atmosphere

Villa Sylvia Resort: Laguna

To those looking for a resort to go to this summer, this is a suggestion. It is fairly cheap and looks fairly clean.I guess this resort is fairly popular because when we inquired, there were a lot of people swimming and there was even a bus parked there.
