Gerry's Grill

Gerry's Grill at SM Batangas is always packed so we were surprised when we didn't have to wait in line this time around. We were seated immediately and in a single table with four chairs so it was a tight fit. When it became apparent that space was an issue, the waitress asked if we wanted to change tables and when we said yes, we were ushered into another table.

We ordered a group meal to save us from the dilemma of choosing which dishes go best with each other or which dishes were "magkaulam". The set we first chose turned out to be unavailable but the waitress pointed out what were the available items in the menu. The waitress said it would take 15 minutes for our food to arrive but the food arrived early, a fact which pleased everyone at our table.

The dish that first arrived was the calamares which wasn't part of our set meal but we ordered at the request of my brother. The calamares was good especially the dipping sauce. Then the dishes came in succesion with the last dish being the chicken.

The pusit was a bit undercooked for me, though I don't really know if its supposed to be that way. I wasn't used to pusit this soft and slippery but nevertheless, it was good when dipped in soy sauce. It was a bit chewy though and I had a hard time swallowing it.

The barbeque was good but nothing extraordinary. The sauce was good.

The chopsuey was a bit pale but still tasty.

The real star of the meal was the chicken. It was really delicious and moist. The dipping sauce was also good. It was huge and we had to take the half of it home and the staff was nice enough to give us extra sauce to take home with us.Overall, a nice dining experience at Gerry's Grill and we'll be sure to come back soon.lol
